3 Healthy Habits that Never Fails
One thing that is certain about life is that we cannot control our circumstances. However, we have the power to control how we respond to life. Maintaining a healthy rhythm of habits can help us respond positively. In the next few weeks, I would like to share some habits that have helped me stay on track when my world feels shaken.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a broad term, but in my healthy rhythm, it means attending to a habit of prayer or meditation. As a Christian, I focus on what God says about my life and release the lies that may have gotten into my mind amid stressful situations. Starting my day with prayer helps me refocus my mind on the good my Creator has for me. To be consistent with prayer and meditation, it is essential to set aside time daily to train your mind.
Movement
Get into the habit of moving your body daily. Taking advantage of opportunities to walk or jog is a great way to achieve this. For example, when I got my puppy during the pandemic, I had to take him for a walk, which allowed me to develop the habit of jogging. Now, I am out at the crack of dawn every morning, making sure I get my steps in. This practice helps me clear my head in the morning before the day's distractions try to attack my mind. Here are 3 Benefits for you: Regular exercise improves heart health, boosts productivity, and enhances mental health.
Reading
Sadly, reading is becoming a dying practice for many millennials. However, whenever I finish a chapter from a book, I feel a sense of accomplishment for the day. This practice helps me slow down the information stream and focus on one stream of information that sharpens my mind. New Statistics have found that reading for even 15 minutes a day can make people feel more accomplished, relaxed, and happier. Thirty minutes of reading can lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduce stress levels by 68%.
