How Pilates Changed my Life

When I was sixteen, I was diagnosed with scoliosis, and my doctor recommended that I start doing Pilates. At the time, I had never heard of it. Despite being active in ballet and tennis, Pilates was a new concept. It changed my life. I started doing it a few times a week with a family friend who helped me with my posture and natural rhythm. Then, I began following Pilates videos on YouTube for the next few years. And, two years ago, I was introduced to the reformer, which was a huge step up from traditional Pilates. It focused more on strength and core, while traditional Pilates emphasized form. Both have been very beneficial for my physical and mental health, and I believe could be for many.

Pilates has become a regular part of my daily routine, and I continue to see great results and learn from it as I improve my health. Many friends also swear by it, making it more fun and encouraging to stick with. For those of you looking for a fun exercise to add to your growth journey, and if you haven't tried or implemented Pilates into your lifestyle, I would encourage you to consider exploring it.

Here are 3 benefits that I found from it:

1. Improved posture and natural rhythm

Pilates helped me enhance my posture and natural rhythm, which has positively impacted my daily life.

2. Physical and mental health

Both traditional Pilates and the Reformer have brought significant benefits to my physical and mental well-being.

3. Fun and encouraging exercise

Pilates has become a fun and stimulating part of my daily routine, and it has been even more enjoyable with friends joining in.

Full disclosure: I'm not a health professional or an expert, so I encourage you to consult with a health professional before doing pilates.
